Since starting out four years ago, Nottingham duo April Towers have been working hard to master their craft of impeccable synth-pop. Now they’ve an album to let loose.

Singles have been released, each to increasing acclaim. June will see the debut LP Certified Freaky launched and that announcement was accompanied by the single Tel Aviv. The first song the pair wrote together, it’s been in gestation for some time. “It’s a song about instability, about being attracted to something that isn’t good for you” says lead singer Alex Noble, but that darkness is almost completely subsumed by the soaring keys and production from Charlie Burely – a wonderful juxtaposition.

Certified Freaky is out on June 8. Follow @april_towers
