London’s chroniclers of the mundane are back with a new 7″, themed around the humble bus.
The concept single is a new one on us, but this is where we are. “[B]oth songs are inspired by Seeing Red, a BBC documentary filmed at the London Buses depot in Westbourne Park on the eve of the 1992 General Election” says the blurb to the record, titled Two Songs About Buses. “It is accompanied by a 12-page fanzine paying tribute to London buses, and the men and women who drive them.”
And it’s all done in their inimitable style, laying somewhere between HMHB and I, Ludicrous. A vital part to the nation’s chronicle.
