“Imagine a parallel universe”, starts the press release accompanying the new record from Huddersfield four-piece Birds & Beasts, “where David Attenborough left the BBC in the ’60s and shared his love of the natural world by starting a psychedelic rock band.” We’re listening…

The USP for the band is that all their material is influenced by the animal kingdom, but done in a way to reflect back on our human lives. Their new single, out on March 9, is all about how sharks use electrical signals to communicate – to find food, friends and, inevitably, mates.
This is a great idea and the band carry it off with great style and attitude.
