I SHOULDN’T HAVE SAID THAT BY THE LOVELY EGGS

A new one from Lancaster’s Lovely Eggs, the first taken from their new album, which sees them go a lot fuzzier and noisy.

It’s up front and in your face stuff, this. A different tone can be at least partly attributed to producer Dave Fridmann, while there’s a clear Neu! influence as well. The artwork for the record comes from Turner Prize-nominated artist David Shrigley – the amazing Partick Thistle mascot Kingsley is among his creations, while his musical chops extend to an LP with Malcolm Middleton which you must check out. So it’s familiar to fans, but also heading in new directions which will appeal to a new audience as well.
