Made up of various parts of various other bands, you could consider Magic Mountain to be a Leeds indie-rock supergroup. Their debut single is on the ever-reliable Come Play With Me singles club – another badge of quality.

Grammatics and Lone Wolf guitarist Lins Wilson fronts the band while Tom Hudson is loaned out from Pulled Apart By Horses and Nestor Matthews of Sky Larkin and Menace Beach rounds out the outfit. That’s a pretty eclectic bunch with strong pedigree right there.
Debut single Zodiac takes elements of all those other bands – fuzzy and melodic, insistent and urgent. There’s a commitment here to not take it all too seriously which lets them really let down their collective hair.

The single is out on October 14. Order it here. They’re on Facebook
