Not sisters, not called Cornshed – let’s get that out of the way first. One thing that stands about this, the lead track from their forthcoming second LP, is how Field Music-ish it feels.

And that shouldn’t come as a surprise as The Cornshed Sisters include Liz Corney, who plays live with Field Music, and Jennie Brewis, who is married to Field Music’s Pete Brewis. Musically, the connection is hard to miss, but here we have four-way vocal harmonies and the very best elements of modern folk-pop.
The Message is the lead track from the album Honey & Tar. Of it, Corney explains “You know when someone is going to dump you and you don’t want to be the one to have to start the conversation because it’s not you who wants to break up but they do so they should be the one to say it, right? This song’s about that.”
