What even is this? We mean that in the nicest possible sense, of course, but this is almost beyond description. And that’s what we’re interested in.

It calls to mind the acid house classic Mr Kirk’s Nightmare in some senses, perhaps the conversation, and that can’t be a bad thing. There’s elements of Daft Punk – Daftendirekt, one suggests – too in the music coming from outside the box.
Recorded in Vietnam the album Flimsy Tomb, which opens with this track, is framed as a claustrophobic radio drama featuring a range of sounds from Porest’s (that’s California’s Mark Gergis to you) back catalogue. And it’s simply sensational.
