It’s one of those odd ones here where the band have already called it a day before we get round to fully digesting their debut release. Still, they have plenty else with which to occupy themselves.
Feature were initially a two-piece of Liv Willars and Jen Calleja, the latter of whom you’ll know from Sauna Youth/Monotony. Adding Slowcoaches bassist Heather Perkins completed the line-up and the very punk sound they create.
Gatekeeper is an unashamedly feminist anthem taken from their one and only album, Banishing Ritual, the spoken-word German part seemingly a transcript of the Georg Baselitz interview in which he opines that “women just can’t paint very well”. Fuck you, Georg, basically.
