HEATHER BY SAINT ETIENNE

In which Saint Etienne abandon their trademark disco-infused indie-pop for a much harder and unexpectedly drum n bass backed sound.
Not really. It’s disco-influenced indie-pop.

And there’s nothing wrong with disco-influenced indie-pop and there is nobody better at it than Saint Etienne, undoubtedly our favourite band named for a French team that play in green.
Heather is taken from the forthcoming LP Home Counties, their first since 2012s Words And Music By… The band say “Saint Etienne grew up in the Home Counties. Here are 16 new songs they have written about a day in the life of this doughnut of shires that ring the capital, punctuated by bursts of BBC radio to remind you what time it is, and all connected by train journeys — main lines, branch lines, commutes, escapes.”

Home Counties is out on June 2 on Heavenly. Follow @bobpetesarah
