The third album from Leeds post-punk quartet Post War Glamour Girls is out soon, on April 17. Ahead of that, they’ve released a video for lead single Organ Donor.
In making the LP, the band decamped to the north coast of Scotland, far away from distractions – no phones, no wifi. Frontman James Smith explains: “We decided with this album that we wanted to get lost during the recording process. To let it consume us entirely throughout. No distractions from our day to day lives. No dashing mid-take to get to work on time. No phone calls from our landlords. No other commitments. Just two solid weeks of living it.”
The resulting album touches on themes such as war, religion, anxiety, the class system, but Organ Donor is very much a love song inspired, unusually perhaps, by the Milgram experiments.
