Zimbabwe is in a state of drought. As if there weren’t enough issues. This track from Victoria Falls 6-piece Mokoomba revives traditional rituals honouring the falls as bringer of water.

Mokoomba’s debut LP in 2012, Rising Tide, gained international acclaim and the new one, Luyando, looks set to achieve more and further beyond their national boundaries. We feature Mokole here with it’s ritualistic incantation of “give me some water to drink”. As well as highlighting the drought, it also serves as a reminder to the next generation to preserve their local environment.
